Toni graduated from the directing course at the Flinders University Drama Centre with honours in 2005 as the recipient of the Minter Ellison Rising Star Award (2005). In 2008 she studied in Parisat L’Ecole de Jaques Le Coq focusing on her passion for physical theatre and mask performance. She was the Artistic Director of SYTE (Southern Youth Theatre Ensemble) for two years where she directed a variety of projects including Steam Island (Come Out Festival 2011), Retaliation (2010, nominated Adelaide Critics Circle Awards) and Party House (2009, nominated Ruby Awards SA). She has worked with many South Australian companies such as Windmill Theatre Company, Instigate Theatre, Urban Myth Theatre for Young people and Carclew Youth Arts. Her directing credits include Hayali’s Mess (2009), Still Waiting (2009), A Stab in the Dark by Alex Vickery-Howe (2008), Away by Michael Gow (2008), Two by Jim Cartwright (2006), Out of the Boot for Urban Myth Theatre (2006) The Bank Job by Alex Vickory-Howe (2006). Harm’s Way by Mac Wellman (2005), Dreaming by Peter Barnes (2004), After Dinner by Andrew Bovell (2004), Dreamtown by Melissa Reeves (2003). She is also a co founder of Instigate Theatre Productions.

 

 

 

General Manager: Justine Potter (gm@tantrumtheatre.org.au)

Justine has been working as an Arts Manager for over five years with Tantrum Theatre.  Previous to this she was employed by the Art Gallery of NSW as the Business Development Officer for three years and as Events Co-ordinator at the Tate Gallery in London during the opening of Tate Modern and the re-launch of Tate Britain.  Justine has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (UNSW) and has worked on numerous arts and community projects; Coordinator for the NSW DET initiative ArtStart, Co-founder of the Sydney Women’s Festival and Administrator for youth arts training organisation, TEAME. With over 20 year’s involvement in the arts, Justine has a strong commitment to arts advocacy and business development. 

 

 

 

 

 

Associate Director: Rachel Jackett (info@tantrumtheatre.org.au)

Rachel Jackett first performed on stage in Newcastle in 2007 for the University of Newcastle’s production of Oh, What a Lovely War! Shortly afterwards she joined Tantrum Theatre’s Senior Ensemble. Since then she has performed in Spurt of Blood, Peepshow (Newcastle/Sydney seasons), The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other, Blackrock, 2039 and As You Like It with Tantrum, as well as Proof (Godot Theatre Company), The Shape of Things (Stooged Theatre: CONDA nomination) and Rabbit (Stooged Theatre). She also worked as dramaturg on Tantrum’s 2010 production Dreams of a Forgotten City and as Assistant Director on Wonder (2011). Rachel has a BA in Drama/English, with Honours in Drama from the University of Newcastle.  Rachel is also a workshop facilitator with Tantrum.

 

 

 

 

 

Marketing Coordinator: Sarah Coffee (publicity@tantrumtheatre.org.au)

Sarah Coffee is a PhD (Communication and Media) candidate at the University of Newcastle. Her studies explore the nature of creativity through the practice of freelance journalism. Sarah joined Tantrum Theatre’s Senior Ensemble in 2009 and has performed with the company in As You Like It, Blackrock (CONDA nomination), The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other and Going Home and was the sound recorder/editor for Talk is small and Compliance. She has also performed with Stooged Theatre in Rabbit and been involved in a number of productions at the University of Newcastle (Peace, Mint Juleps Trilogy). Sarah has also been an assistant tutor with Tantrum’s drama workshop program.
