In Term 4 the 18-30s ensemble workshop class will be all about Commedia dell’Arte.
Tantrum’s Artistic Director Toni Main will be facilitiating this fun introduction to Commedia, the comedy of the craft of improvisation. In all periods of Western culture since the Renaissance Commedia dell’Arte has been a presence in performance. Using taboos and evocative language and physical comedy Commedia pokes fun at society’s respectable values by means of exaggerated styles and character traits. Come along to an introduction workshop in the stock characters of this classical but naughty performance technique.
This workshop is ideal for emerging artists of all abilties, playful performers, those who want to try something new and anyone who want to have a whole lot of fun while they act.
