This November Tantrum presents five days and nights of gutsy new performance to activate Newcastle’s City Centre. Theatre With Guts showcases the work of some of the region’s best emerging artists in a festival of daring new works, providing a platform for the next wave of inventive theatre makers to engage in new and exciting ways with local audiences.
The keynote event is Act Three, a collection of short plays by the playwrights from Tantrum’s Emerging Writer’s Program.
Our 15-17 years ensemble are performing a new work called The Kids Are Alright written by local playwright Michael Fiddian.
Keep an eye out for free outdoor events for families to enjoy with pop-Up! as surprising and vibrant performances spring up throughout the heart of Newcastle’s creative centre.
As part of the celebration of our 35th birthday we also have a weekend of events planned for Friends of 2 Till 5 and Tantrum, including a performance by Tantrum co-founder Barney Langford called So It Goes, an exhibition about our 35 year history in the Playhouse foyer and a series of 35 years of photos and stories on our website.
